I WILL FIND YOU AGAIN

In the distant lands where the roads cross
There he is waiting
Patiently waiting for the one who owns his heart
Cast out like a leper by his own people
Just because he dared to love from the wrong side of the tracks
So they lamented.

Dark clouds are everywhere, blanketing the heavens
Bells are chipping from the old church on the hill
Signalling the end of the hour
Drawing near the execution at the stake.
They call her a witch,
Whisper whenever she passes by,
Some swear she cast a spell on him who is never mentioned by name
"Burn her" they chant

Children cry whenever she looks their way
The village elder lusts after her, but hides behind power when fingers start pointing
The parish priest can barely complete a sermon in her presence
The time has come, she will burn by nightfall
When the clock strikes midnight
But they cannot break her spirit
She walks with her head held high, and a smile that men want to die for and women spit
They can never understand what it means to touch the heart of another human being
To possess them both body and soul
To hurt when they hurt
To rejoice in their happiness

They have made a fire, one that can burn down the walls of Jericho
She watches from the cage they tied her.
And then the drums start beating, the villagers chant
They drag her towards the inferno
"No i cannot die before i see his face one more time" she weeps inside
She stops, holds on to the reins dragging her and scream,
Scream to the heavens for intervention
Calls on to the goddess Aphrodite for understanding

The crows are crowing, so many of them flying over head
Something is wrong, terribly wrong
He can feel it in his bones, she needs him
He has to travel back to the land of his ancestors
He just hopes that he ain't too late.............
