MEMORIES OF YOU

I told them about you
With a teary smile I relived our love story
I could feel their eyes on me
I could almost taste their anxiety
I took a deep breath and bared my soul before them

I told them that I missed you
That I still miss you
I could see the questions in their eyes
I could smell the scent of their desperation
They had waited for so long to know of you, of us
I took them down memory lane, I painted a Picture of how it had been

I told them that, when we first kissed, its like two galaxies had collided
The sparks created diamonds in the realm and mingled with colours of the rainbow.
I told them with a blush even the beating of the rain on the roof could not muffle the sounds of our lovemaking.
I could have sworn I heard a gasp somewhere in the crowd.
As I stood there, I shed a tear with sudden memories
They were so overwhelming i could hardly breathe
I hugged myself with a sudden chill
I wished you were there with me.

I created a picture of a man who had loved in his time
and who had been loved back with an intensity close to insanity
I read them your work, I could see women dabbing at their eyes
unable to hold back the tears.
Sniffs here and there from men too proud to shed a tear.
I smiled with a sadness that cut deep to my very soul

I will be waiting,
I will hold a candle to guide you through the mist
Even when thunder strikes, I still will search flashes of your face
Even when centuries come and go, I will be waiting my love,
