THE STRANGER IN MY DREAMS

I dream of a man, a stranger with a faceless face,
He haunts my every waking moment
Because he only reside in my dreams
I have never looked forward to falling asleep like these few nights
We always meet at a clearing, his back turned to me
The moon bright in understanding
And every moment he turns his face is faceless
I should know his name, I know I should
Because his touch is so familiar.

I never had passion consume me to the brink of insanity
I long to see his face, to know his smile,
To memorize the colour of his eyes
I want to smell the scent of his skin
To inhale the very essence of him
To trace my hand on the curve of his jaw
I long to taste his lips, to hear him whisper my name

The stranger in my dreams,
How he torments me,
I imagine his laughter deep, the kind that is contagious
I want to laugh with him one day
I want to share my dreams, my hopes
I want to love him with a fire that burns
