“I MISS YOU”

I saw you on the street
In the milling of the crowd
Wanted to call out to you
To let you know that I miss you
That my nights have been so cold
I cry myself to sleep
Wondering where and when I lost you
Wishing I could turn back the hands of time,
On that sweet day you walked into my life
When you couldn’t take your eyes off me
Always called to say goodnight
Said the sound of my voice calmed your soul
They were days filled with laughter and teasing
Long stares and holding hands.
Days when a minute away from me said felt like eternity
They were days full of sunshine
Long walks on the beach
When we could watch the sunset and loose track of time
Do I cross your mind sometimes?
Do you smile when you think of me?
Do you hear my name in the whisper of the wind?
I miss you it hurts
I am sad that you not there when I wake up
I am sad because I get scared when thunder strikes
And you not there to hold me,
Tell me it will be alright,
Whisper sweet things till I drift away
I wish I could go back in time
And tell you how much I love you
That I lay awake at night thinking of you
That I hear you in every love song….
I search for your face in every gathering
I miss you like crazy

  1. I like this "I Miss You", Muthoni. Wrote on the same theme which perhaps you read. Here it is

I MISS YOU MY FRIEND by Francis Ndiege.

The truth is the feeling of loss
For I miss you my Friend
The fatigue is the emptiness of the loss
For I miss you my Friend
The endurance is the burden of loss
For I miss you my Friend
The pain is the price of the loss
For I miss you my Friend
The apathy is the flaw of the loss
For I miss you my Friend
The weariness is the disillusionment of the loss
For I miss you my Friend
The pain is the anguish of the loss
For I miss you my Friend
The frustrations are the exasperation of the loss
    For I miss you Friend

    A day in the day
I see you in my mind but you are faint my Friend
    A day in the day
I see you walking but you are afar and I can’t walk with you my Friend
    A day in the night
I dream but you are not even at arm’s length my Friend
    A day in the evening
I here you laugh but the laughter is inaudible laughter my Friend
    A day in the dusk
I see you cold but I can’t warm you my Friend
    I day in the ballroom
I see you dance but I can’t dance with you my Friend
    I day in the heart
I see you sad but your heart is cold and I can’t cheer you up my Friend
My days my days my Friend
Our days our days my Friend
For I miss you my Friend

My strength is beyond my weakness
For I miss you my friend
My calmness is beyond my fatigue
For I miss you my Friend
My reality is beyond my dreams
For I miss you my Friend
My fascination is beyond my pain
For I miss you my Friend
My steadfastness is beyond my frustrations
For I miss you my Friend

Yet only your intellect quenched my thirst for knowledge
Yet only your simplicity humbled me
Yet only your smile defeats my strength
For I miss you my Friend
Yet only your laughter quells my fatigue
For I miss you my Friend
Yet only your call makes my dreams real
For I miss you my Friend
    I miss you my Friend
Yet only the thinking of you consoles me
For I miss you my Friend
Yet your being away is what bonds me to you
For I miss you my Friend

We used to walk my Friend
We used to laugh my Friend
We used to debate my Friend
We used to argue my Friend
We used to write my Friend
We used to be the “books” my Friend
We used wonder the dusk my Friend
We used to Visit my Friend
We used to commune my Friend
We used dream the world my Friend
For I miss you my Friend

    Now we recall my Friend
Now we engage a distance my Friend
Now we rebuke the past my Friend
Now we tuck away the times my Friend
Now we mute away the memories my Friend
Now we hide away from the our realities my Friend
    Now my Friend, My Friend
For I miss you my Friend.
